Van Halen recording with David Lee Roth

All of the recent back and forth about Van Halen and their recording/not recording/recording/not recording hoopla has gotten kind of dizzying and annoying. But recently, Gigwise reported that the band really is in studio working on new music and it sound legit this time.

Via a press release from Warner/Chappell Music, it stated that “The group is currently in the studio recording an album with Roth that is due for release in 2011.” OK it’s one thing when us bloggers start up rumors or speculation but when a press release gets involved then you know we’re good to go.

The last time someone brought up the idea of the band recording with David Lee, it was immediately shot down by Van Halen spokeswoman/Eddie’s wife, Janie Van Halen. So far, however, no one’s said no to this report. Here’s hoping it stays that way so we can really look forward to the day in 2011 when a new VH album actually does hit record store shelves.

You should check vhnd.com (Van Halen News Desk) for the reality on this situation. Apparently the record contract was extended for Eddie and Alex, but no yes or no’s have gone around.

I hope for the love of God this is true, need another song like “Me Wise Magic” from Roth.
