Listen: The Gay Blades – “Try To Understand”
One of the best bands that you need to hear about would be the duo that is Clark Westfield and Puppy Mills aka The Gay Blades.
I recently saw Westfield aka James Dean Wells at a solo show in Jersey City and he still put on a great show, even with all the drunken Mets fans that showed up later in the evening. While at the show, I learned that the Blades’ new album, Savages, would be out on October 5th. Which is outstanding since I’ve been waiting for another album from these guys.
So here’s your sneak peek at their new LP. The song you can check out down below is called “Try To Understand” and it’s definitely a big leap forward for the trash-pop band. It features a horn section which gives it an old-school feel that if swing ever went rock n’ roll, this is what it could sound like.
