Wake Up Astronauts With Rock Music

NASA is calling out to all of you to decide what music should wake up astronauts in space. I say we lead the charge with some rock and roll!
The space agency has released a list of their top 40 songs. Of those songs, you can vote on which one you would like to have played to wake up the astronauts of mission STS-133. Songs on the list include Metallica’s “Enter Sandman,” Foo Fighters’ “Learn To Fly” and Rush’s “Countdown” among many others.
All you have to do is go to NASA’s website and vote on the song you think should wake up our ambassadors to the cosmos. However, if you think you have a song you wrote that would be ideal for an intergalactic stereo, then you can suggest that as well.
You can upload an original song to the site up until January 10, 2011. NASA officials will vote on the best ones and they’ll put their top picks on the site starting February 8th. Then it’ll be up to the public to decide which original song gets beamed into outer space. I think it would be insane if a member of our little rock nation represented us throughout the galaxy! So either vote for the rock songs from their top 40 list or submit your own tune. Either way, let’s let our space invaders know that rock music is with them even in the Milky Way.
