Watch: Linkin Park – “The Catalyst”
So the music video for Linkin Park’s quasi-techno song, “The Catalyst,” has been released and you can watch it by clicking play up top. It’s really nothing special, though; just scenes featuring a hooded Mike Shinoda and slow motion shots of Chester Bennington going in and out of water. In other words, the video is as bad as the song.
But it is my duty to inform you, if you are a fan, that their new album, A Thousand Suns, will be in stores on September 14th. I’m still hoping we got some good rock music from this album and this song is just a fluke single.

Amazingly, the video actually warmed me up to the song a little bit. Maybe its because they shaved a minute off of the single, but its not nearly as unbearable now. You’re right about the video not being special, though.

I love the piano breakdown bit. Was never a huge fan of LP, so I’m a little more open minded about the whole thing. I’m sort of anticipating some kind of new age KMFDM sound to come out of it.

This is so so so bad. I remember being in 8th grade and going crazy over Hybrid Theory and then Meteora, but this is just…i don’t even have words to describe it. Wish they’d get their heads out of their a** and do some great music.

The Video is by far LP best, its dark, its fresh, the sound is new. I know your little emo ass would love them to keep screaming “MY MOTHER DIDN’T LOVE ME” but guess what. People mature, and so does there music taste. I dont really think you’re that big of a music lover in the end if you cant accept that.

People who only remember there old sound, always have to make negative comments about the new sound. really, just let go of Lp if your hate there new sound so much
Btw the lyrics in this song is very strong, musically i think its alright.
I would give the song 7/10
