Arcade Fire release interactive video for “We Used To Wait”

When’s the last time you thought about your childhood home? The house you grew up in, had your first memories in, had friends come over and hang out in? If it’s been a while, Arcade Fire would like to help you remember.
By going to TheWildernessDowntown.com, you’ll be able to check out the interactive video for their song, “We Used To Wait.” But it’s recommended you use Google Chrome to watch it. Why? Because the video is going to take you back home.
You first enter your old address and then the video splices in footage of Google Maps and Street View and takes you back to your old neighborhood as if you’re seeing it from the perspective of the guy running down the street in the video. You can also send a postcard to your younger self and it may appear on the band’s website or even as a backdrop on their tour.
I haven’t seen my old house in Rockford, IL in years. It was pretty cool to go back and see my front yard where I used to play wiffle ball in, to see the street I rode my bike on and…and…sorry. I’m just getting a little misty thinking about it. Oh, the sentimentality of it all! Go check out the video at the website and take a trip down memory lane.

Really loved this video, especially the interactive postcard part!
Arcade Fire has a bunch of cool videos…their “Take Away Show” in an elevator is particularly awesome: http://www.ourstage.com/blog/2010/8/12/viewer-discretion-advised-la-blogotheque-the-take-away-shows
