Axl Rose hates the Reading and Leeds festival promoters

Axl Rose has decided to declare “war” on the promoters of the Reading and Leeds festivals that took place this past weekend in the UK.

Guns N’ Roses played both festivals and had both of their sets cut early by festival promoters. Rose took to his Twitter account and cried foul saying that they “allegedly had a deal in place pre show w/the city at least at Leeds to do a bit longer performance that was either miscommunication, someone wasn’t informed, changed their mind, didn’t care or was a con.”

What Rose conveniently omits from the fuming online rant is that the band showed up late for both sets — an hour late for Reading and a half-hour for Leeds. Furthermore, festival promoter Melvin Benn told NME.com that no deal was in place for the band to play after curfew. He added that “bands often say things like that when they are curtailed.”

So while Rose and his band threw a bit of a fit, that doesn’t mean they didn’t try to give the crowd their money’s worth. After the Reading performance was cut off, they decided to grab a couple of acoustic guitars and a megaphone and perform “Paradise City” for the monstrous audience in attendance. You can check that out down below along with what the show looked like while they still had time to play.
