Duff McKagan leaves Jane’s Addiction

Well that was quick. After all the hype and all the hoopla and excitement we were put through, the party is over. Duff McKagan has put down his bass and has parted ways with Jane’s Addiction.
Blabbermouth reports that the band released an email that said the following:
“We love the songs we worked on with him — and the gigs were a blast — but musically we were all headed in different directions. From here Duff is off to work on his own stuff so we wish him all the best.” Furthermore, frontman Perry Farrell tweeted that the band “wishes Duff much luck with his band LOADED. What a fun time we all had working together. Look out for his record and tour this fall.”
So far, no replacement bassist has been announced but they better find someone soon since their new album is expected to come out in 2011. Here’s hoping the next bassist is someone unknown without his own projects to work on.
