Coldplay will not release a new album this year

I know some of you can’t go very long without some type of Coldplay fix, be it new music or a live performance, but I’m sorry to say that you guys won’t be getting a new LP this year. I hear it’s because Chris Martin hates all of you.

Well, ok, that might be the reason. But we do know, thanks to the website Coldplaying.com, that Martin did meet up with some fans in old Londontown. Website member Craigy-J posted “There ain’t gonna be a release for Christmas now that is for sure. Chris (Martin) said that although they are close to finishing lots of songs, they have not actually finished anything at all yet… (even Wedding Bells!) and he said there’d be no chance of the album coming out for Christmas.”

Their former manager, Phil Harvey, confirmed to Billboard that the time between the new release and it’s tour would be “slightly longer” than usual. So, for those that need their Coldplay smack, you can watch Martin play “Wedding Bells” at the Apple Keynote Address on a loop until your eyes bug out.
