Trent Reznor posts five free tracks from The Social Network soundtrack

As October 1st draws near, more and more hype is being built around the Facebook movie, The Social Network. But for us music bloggers, the hype builds around the movie’s soundtrack which is being done by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.

Thanks to TwentyFourBit, we now know that at some point today, you should make your way to The Null Corporation’s website at some point in the next 24 hours where you’ll be able to download five tracks from the soundtrack for free. The full soundtrack will be available to pre-order, for only $2.99 from Amazon, and will be released September 28th.

So far we’ve already heard one song from the soundtrack called “Hand Covers Bruise,” which is dark, brooding and full of noise that sound like broken strings. Such ominous tones for a movie about the creation of Facebook? Apparently, the David Fincher directed flick is much darker than we anticipated. We’ll know for certain once we hear the new tracks that come out and we’ll be sure to post them when they do.

UPDATE: Well that was fast. Down below are the five tracks from the soundtrack for you to check out. They can currently be downloaded for free right here.

“Pieces Form The Whole”

“Eventually We Find our Way”

“On We March”

“The Gentle Hum Of Anxiety”

“Soft Trees Break The Fall”
