Our “Catch Up With Jack White” post

Jack White could very well be the most busiest man in music. There isn’t a day that goes by where he’s not working on something — producing a record, playing on a record, promoting vinyl records, starting a new band, getting an old band back together — he does so much that sometimes it’s even hard for us bloggers to keep up with him. So I’d like to take this opportunity to catch up with Mr. White and all the music he’s recently put out.
First up, his recent Triple Decker record was a brilliant way to make vinyl seem fresh again. The single on the 12″ LP, “Blue Blood Blues,” housed a 7″ LP inside it with the unreleased song, “I Feel Strange.” Check that one out right underneath this sentence (via Some Kind Of Awesome).
Secondly, a new band signed to his Third Man Records imprint called The Secret Sisters released a cover of Johnny Cash’s “Big River” and guess who they got to play some fired-up guitar on the track? None other than Jackie Boy himself. You can check out the blazing track over at Pitchfork.
Finally, a TV theme song for Elvira’s Movie Macabre was produced by White and performed by another Third Man band The Black Belles. Watch the intro down below to check out the tune and then head over to TwentyFourBit to hear the full song called “What Can I Do?”
So there you have it. Jack White continues to prove that he is one of the most awesome musicians in rock today and we will continue to follow his moves, big or small, and keep you updated right here.
