Sublime With Rome releasing album in 2011

Well it looks like the natural progression of events has finally happened with Sublime With Rome. Band gets together, band tours together, band sells lots of tickets, band will record new album. Yes, folks, a new “Sublime” record will be in stores come 2011.

The band are currently laying down new tracks and some new freestyles in the studio and are hoping that 2011 will be the year fans young and old will be privy to new songs from Sublime 2.0. They even played a new song back in June on Jimmy Kimmel Live! called “Panic” which you can check out down below.

Having seen them earlier this year, it’s a fun show to go to. Everyone already knows all the words to the songs so it becomes one giant singalong. Which is cool when everyone screams out the right parts of “Date Rape” or “Santeria.” Not too sure how a new album is gonna go over with the fans though. Everyone still hears Brad Nowell’s voice in the music even after the many years that have passed since his death. So while fans may go to the shows for nostalgic purposes, I don’t think many will look forward to new songs.

I think its cool they are making a new album, but I dont think the band will ever be as good as it was with Brad in it :( . I still respect Rome a lot for getting up there and playing and it must be really hard for Eric and Bud to keep on pushing playing these songs without Brad around. I feel bad for Sublime a lot they were such a good band and then the biggest star of the show had to go. I feel like Rome is the best substitute for Bradley, but I still think that Rome is miles away from Brad’s love for the fans and for his music and for the band and also his musical talent. Drugs are bad and I bet Brad would have done anything in his power to stop doing them if he saw where he could be today.

Not gonna lie Rome does sound good as a new substitute for sublime and sounds like he’s going to do good things… But as others had said as well there is no replacement for the talent lyrically, vocally and the creativeness of Brad… However seeing when I think of sublime I instantly think Brad I though a different name would be more respectful to Brad seeing as he was sublime… Love the fact that the sublime sound is back for sure brad created an amazing sound and style by combining well pretty much all styles of music and hope to see great things in the future and I am totally stoked for the new album

Well had the honor to see this show during Fall Frenzy in October of 2010… Rome did a very good job. They sang a new song and the crowd was into it, but clearly did not know the lyrics. I think with time this band can re-emerge. There have been many great bands that have had to find a replacement for their front man. Van Halen comes to mind… Anyhow, the feeling and energy and the “always summertime” sound is back… This is what I am excited for.
