Watch: Gorillaz perform Live on Letterman
So I finally got to see Gorillaz last night but it wasn’t one of their massive arena shows. I saw them at a private concert at the Ed Sullivan Theatre in NYC where they film the Late Show with David Letterman. Although the host himself was not present, we were privy to a 45-minute concert featuring special performances from De La Soul and Little Dragon along with others who helped bring Damon Albarn’s music to life.
Up top, you can watch the entire show that I saw from the audience. Albarn seemed genuinely happy to be there and couldn’t wait for his show at Madison Square Garden which takes place tonight. The energy in the room was so high that it exploded during the final song, “Clint Eastwood,” when Albarn invited tons of audience members on stage with him to sing the song. I wasn’t one of those lucky fans but just seeing it happen made me appreciate Albarn as a frontman even more.
Hopefully you enjoy the performance as much as I did. I also recommend you see Gorillaz live if you get the chance. Currently, they get the title for best band of 2010.
