Prince announces U.S. tour
Last evening, in rainy New York City, the purple one known as Prince held a press conference at the Apollo Theater in Harlem to make a special announcement.
That announcement was that he was kicking off a U.S. tour called Welcome 2 America. It was reported that he told the reporters and guests in attendance to “Bring your friends, bring your children and bring foot spray, because it’s going to be funky.”
The tour is expected to start in December of this year but no specific dates were announced. There’s also a rumor that the “tour” may actually be a multi-date residency at the Apollo Theatre but that’s not been confirmed as of yet. He did confirm, however, that “no two shows will be the same” because, as he pointed out, “I have a lot of hits.” More information about the tour will be revealed in a few weeks.
The last time Prince went on tour was in 2004. He played 96 shows in the U.S. and Canada.
