U2 releasing new album in early 2011
It looks like 2011 is starting to become quite a big year for album releases. Bands like R.E.M., Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beastie Boys, Foo Fighters and more are ready to drop new sounds on us. Another one of those bands would be U2 who, according to their manager Paul McGuinness, will release their album “sooner than anybody thinks.”
Speaking to , McGuinness said U2 will put out the new album, tentatively titled Songs of Ascent, by “early 2011 before the next leg of the American tour which starts in May.” Their North American tour officially kicks off on May 21st in Denver, Colorado. McGuinness also added that the band has already debuted several new songs, including tunes called “Mercy,” “Every Breaking Wave” and “Boy Falls From The Sky,” which also appears in the new Broadway musical, Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark.
