Watch: Alter Bridge w/Slash – “Rise Today”

For most of the year, Alter Bridge frontman Myles Kennedy toured with Slash as the lead singer of his solo band. So Slash decided to return the favor by appearing on stage with AB in Stockholm, Sweden to provide his guitar stylings to their song “Rise Today” (via Blabbermouth).



Slash, appearing in an all-black ensemble with a hat that looks like it came from Carlos Santana’s collection, ripped it up on song while the band that isn’t Creed (thank God) powered their way through the tune. After the performance, Slash took to his Twitter account and posted “That was cool & totally unexpected. Alter Bridge sounds fantastic live. 1st time I’ve seen them in person. I think we’re going to do it again very soon.”

Many people have wanted Kennedy and Slash to team up in Velvet Revolver but Kennedy has turned down the offers so he could stay in Alter Bridge. But with Slash planning on playing more gigs with AB, according to him, I wouldn’t be surprised if that offer was finally accepted.

    Myles singing for Velvet revolver… uhm. It doesn’t sound quite right to me. Would take him too much time, sigh.

    I wouldn’t hold your breath for the whole Myles in VR thing. Slash has said that fronting VR is a 24/7 commitment, so in order for that to happen there would be no more AB. we don’t want that now, do we? I know I don’t AB>VR imho. Slash has said he intends to do an album with Myles, though. I look forward to hearing more about that project.

    Slash and Mark Tremonti playing guitars in AB would make the most epics songs with Myles in the voice!
