Watch: Soundgarden – “Black Rain”/”Hunted Down”

Coco strikes again! While Conan’s first show back on late-night included a performance with the oh so amazing Jack White, the second night featured musical guests, Soundgarden, performing not one but two songs.

The first was “Black Rain,” the previously unreleased song that was recorded during the Badmotorfinger sessions but wasn’t released until this year. The song is on their greatest hits album, Telephantasm, and on the video game, Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. Cornell still proves that he’s got the pipes to hit those really high notes and the band still sounds as tight as ever.

The second song was a web performance only (Thanks Team Coco!) and it was Soundgarden’s first ever single, “Hunted Down.” I appreciate, more than anything else, that the band decided to forgo the easy route of playing songs like “Black Hole Sun” and “Spoonman” and went with tunes that aren’t as familiar. Hopefully they got more fans from last night’s show. Check out both songs down below (“Black Rain” courtesy of The Audio Perv.)
