It’s a sad truth that for the past seven years, David Bowie hasn’t released any new music or performed live. What’s an even sadder truth is that his supermodel wife, Iman, says that he’s not planning to change that anytime soon.

Contact Music caught up with Iman and asked about the reclusive Bowie and if there were any future plans. She said that since he’s a great husband and father, she won’t “make him do it because we love him so much that we want him to stay at home. It’s really up to him.” Instead of music, Iman says that Bowie’s loves are writing, painting, sculpting and being a dad.

In another interview in Harper’s Bizarre, Iman discussed Bowie’s life at home. “David doesn’t fight,” she said. “He is English, so he just stays quiet. I’m the screamer. Then he always makes me laugh.” As to what her favorites songs from The Thin White Duke are, she says “‘Heroes’ especially. ‘Suffragette City’ always gets me dancing with my little girl, Lexi.”

Bowie does have a new release coming soon but in the form of a book. Bowie: Object, a coffee table book, will feature more than 100 rare photos of objects from his personal archives. So far, however, there’s no release date set.
