Robert Plant announces North American tour

With tons of tour announcements for 2011 taking place, one that stands out more than most may also be the shortest one.

Robert Plant is hitting the road next January for a 15-date tour of the U.S. and Canada. The tour kicks off on January 18th in Asheville, North Carolina and will end on February 9th in Nashville, Tennessee. The tour is in support of his new album, Band of Joy.

Also, the band that recorded the album with Plant — Patty Griffin, vocals; Darrell Scott, multi instrumentalist/vocals; Byron House, bass/vocals; Marco Giovino, drums and percussion/vocals, and co-producer Buddy Miller, guitar/vocals — will tour with him as well. The North Mississippi Allstars will provide support.
