Megadeth have “five songs almost finished” for next album
Looks like Megadeth have already begun work on the next album. According to Dave Mustaine, they have “five songs almost finished” for the next release.

Speaking to Megadeth’s online fan club, Cyber Army, in an online chat, Mustaine said that he’s currently going over new material at their recording studio, Vic’s Garage, in California. He’s working with engineer Ken Eisennagel who worked with Megadeth on 2009′s Endgame and 2007′s United Abominations (via Blabbermouth.)
So far, Megadeth’s only shows they have lined up are in New Zealand and Australia throughout December. So does 2011 mean that’s when the band hunkers down to release their new album? Here’s hoping so!
