Watch: Arcade Fire – “The Suburbs”
I’ll say this about Arcade Fire; they really know how to stir up emotions in their music videos. They took us back to our childhood with “We Used To Wait” and now, with the Spike Jonze directed “The Suburbs,” they take you from happy to inquisitive to upset/sad all within five minutes.
You can watch the video up top that the band shot in Austin, TX with Jonze. When we first heard about this project from frontman Win Butler, he called it a “science-fiction B-movie companion piece for the record.” He added that when he first played the music for Jonze, “the first images that came to his mind had the same feeling as this idea for a science fiction film I had when I was younger.” The end result is the video for the title track of their newest album. Enjoy.
