TV On The Radio’s Dave Sitek playing bass for Jane’s Addiction

Jane’s Addiction may be getting a bit of indie-rock cred headed their way.

Spinner.com revealed that TV On The Radio’s multi-instrumentalist Dave Sitek will be taking over on bass on the new JA album. Sitek, who released the debut album for his project Maximum Balloon in 2010, will play bass and help write the album which is expected to be released this summer. There’s no word as to whether he’ll play live with the band.

Jane’s previous bassist, Duff McKagan, was on board with the band for a few months before leaving to return to his previous group, Velvet Revolver.
