Trent Reznor will score The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
Did you enjoy Trent Reznor’s work on the movie The Social Network? If so, then have I got news for you.
In an interview with The New York Times‘ (via ) in New York City on January 7th, Reznor confirmed that he would be scoring the forthcoming film, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, based on the super-popular book of the same name. Directing the film is David Fincher who also directed The Social Network. Looks like Fincher and Reznor are gearing up to be the next great director/composer duo since Tim Burton and Danny Elfman….or how about Christopher Nolan and Hans Zimmer? Yeah I like that better.
Reznor said that this score would feature him playing stringed instruments i.e. violins, cellos, etc. He said the score was inspired by words like “ice” and “frozen”, according to , and that the music on Dragon Tattoo wouldn’t feature many of the electronic sounds and noises that were prominent in Social Network. Reznor has already been nominated for a Golden Globe the score of the beloved Facebook movie.
In the interview, he also said that How To Destroy Angels would be releasing a full-length album and that he hasn’t dropped the idea of releasing new music from Nine Inch Nails and would even consider touring under that name again.
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo will be in theaters on December 21, 2011. This would be the second time the book was made into a movie; it was first adapted to play on the silver screen in Sweden.
