Soundgarden releasing first live album in March

The first-ever live album from Soundgarden called Live On I5 will be released on March 22nd. The album features recordings from their West Coast leg of their 1996 tour (via Blabbermouth).
The album features recordings from shows at five different locations: Del Mar, CA; Oakland, CA; Vancouver, BC, Canada; Salem, OR and Seattle, WA. A statement from Soundgarden regarding the album read, “We had always intended to release this as a live record and now it’s time to unleash the fury!”
So far, we’re still hoping to see if Soundgarden plan on playing any shows this year. They played a handful in 2010 including the Lollapalooza festival so we’re keeping our fingers crossed that they’ll make a return to the stage again this year. But for now, Live On I5 is as close as you’ll get to hearing them live.

How about they release their first real album since they got back together. We don’t need another cash grab, and anyway they don’t work so well anymore.
