Zakk Wylde and…William Shatner are making an album?

I couldn’t make this up even if I tried whilst on every type of psychedelic drug ever invented. But this is happening. Zakk Wylde of Black Label Society and William Shatner are teaming up and making an album together. Need the proof? Watch the video up top.

Surprisingly, this move isn’t shocking on the part of Shatner. After all, the man released his album, The Transformed Man, in 1968 which featured his spoken word renditions of “Mr. Tambourine Man” and “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds.” And, of course, his famous spoken word version of Elton John’s “Rocket Man” which has been parodied to no end. But in 2004, the Shat and Ben Folds released a collaborative album called Has Been that wasn’t all that bad.

So when Shatner tweeted the following words, “Just watched tracks being laid down by Zakk Wylde of Black Label Society for my upcoming record SEEKING MAJOR TOM,” it’s time to mentally prepare for what could be either an amazing rock record or a gigantic flop. How do you think it’ll turn out?

If anyone out there has taken the time to listen to Bill Shatner’s album, Has Been, (2004) you will know that it is a siriuslee great cd. His team up with rocker Henry Rollins was a standout. If you haven’t heard this amazing cd, please pick up a copy. Imho, it should have won some award in 2004 when it came out, but was sadly overlooked. It’s simply that good. This collaboration with Zakk will probably be no different….
