Foo Fighters documentary in theaters this Spring

A documentary on the history of the Foo Fighters will be in theaters this Spring. It’ll officially premiere at SXSW in Austin, TX and then hit theaters nationwide. The new album from FF is in stores on April 12th. Dave Grohl described what the doc chronicles in a statement he released to the press:

In October of 1994, I walked into Robert Lang’s Seattle studio with a guitar, a drum set, a bass and 14 songs I thought nobody would ever hear. Five days later, I walked out with the first Foo Fighters record. Sixteen years and seven studio albums later, with the help of Academy Award winning director James Moll, we’re finally able to tell the story of how that one demo cassette turned into the band that we are today. This is our side of the story. From the first rehearsal, to the completion of our new album, it’s all there.

The Foos are also playing two festivals in the U.S. this summer; the Hangout Music Festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama and the Sasquatch Festival in George, Washington. Those dates, along with their European appearances, can be found at their website.
