Radiohead releasing The King of Limbs on February 19

2011′s best album of the year is being released on February 19th.
Radiohead made the official announcement at their website that their 8th studio album, The King Of Limbs, will be released in two formats: Digital and…Newspaper? Let me explain.
You can currently pre-order a digital version of the album and have it delivered to your inbox this Saturday either as an mp3 or wav file. Or, you can do what I’m doing and pre-order the Newspaper version which includes the following:
- Two clear 10″ vinyl records in a purpose-built record sleeve.
- A compact disc.
- Many large sheets of artwork, 625 tiny pieces of artwork and a full-colour piece of oxo-degradeable plastic to hold it all together.
- The Newspaper Album comes with a digital download that is compatible with all good digital media players.
- The Newspaper Album will be shipped on Monday 9th May 2011 you can, however, enjoy the download on Saturday 19th February 2011.
-One lucky owner of the digital version of The King Of Limbs, purchased from this website, will receive a signed 2 track 12″ vinyl.
As for the album title, it’s in reference to a 1,000 year old oak tree in Wiltshire’s Savernake Forest. Just a bit of trivia for you.
The physical version of The King Of Limbs will be released worldwide on March 28th (via AtEase.) But I’ve already pre-ordered the Newspaper version and I suggest you do the same. So that’s my headline for today. Everything else is secondary. Happy Valentine’s Day.
