Blink-182 album finished by this Summer
Many of us have been waiting for what seems like ever for a new Blink-182 album to come out. But it seems as if we’re about to see the light at the end of the punk-pop tunnel.
Blink drummer Travis Barker tells that they will “turn in our album in June or July, honestly, and, I mean, the stuff’s awesome.” He adds that, currently, they have “five, pretty much, songs” finished.
As to why the album has been taking forever to complete, Barker attributes it to how busy he, Mark Hoppus and Tom Delonge are with other projects. “I mean, up until the last album, every album was written in a week. All of us had ideas, we would come, we would get into a room, [and] we’d go, ‘OK, you want to write the album?’ And we’d write those songs, and then we’d record them the next week. Now … we all have studios, we all have the luxury of staying home and doing it, and we don’t have to get into a room to get an idea out or pay for a studio. So a lot of it’s going down. Like, we’re working in separate studios, just really kind of working on music.”
Blink is playing shows in Europe this summer. But prior to that, Barker is releasing his debut solo album, Give The Drummer Some, on March 15th.
