U2 headlining Glastonbury festival

U2 are having a go at it again. After pulling out of the Glastonbury festival in 2010 due to Bono’s back injury, they’ll headline the festival this year on the Pyramid Stage on Friday, June 24th. U2 will join Coldplay and Beyoncé as this year’s headliners.
The band was announced as a headliner at the NME Awards in London with a video message from The Edge. The guitarist, who played a few songs with Muse at last year’s fest, said, “It’s more a way of life than a festival. I made it last year to the Friday show – got to play with Muse, got to hang out, ate a veggie burger and fries, and got to play on the Pyramid Stage. I have to say there is something really special and iconic about that stage. So we’re all looking forward to coming back to pick up where I left off. And we’re so excited to get to play in front of the world’s greatest festival audience. We’ll see you there.”
Video of The Edge’s speech can be seen at NME.com.
