Listen: Jane’s Addiction – “End To The Lies”

Okay then! As if getting a new track from the Foo Fighters wasn’t enough, now we got ourselves some brand new music from Jane’s Addiction!

Thanks to our fellow rock and roll ragers at Antiquiet, you can check out the track “End To The Lies” from the band’s forthcoming album, The Great Escape Artist, which is out later this summer. The album, according to frontman Perry Farrell in an interview with Rolling Stone, “keeps getting gnarlier and gnarlier.” He also says that TV On The Radio’s Dave Sitek, who is playing bass on the album and producing it, is “a scientist” and that “he’s not afraid of making a monster.”

Sitek is the bassist who replaced Duff McKagan who replaced JA’s original bassist Eric Avery. And Sitek won’t be the last man to handle the low end in the band. He’s declined invitations to tour with the band which means they’ll have to find someone new when they hit the road. But guitarist Dave Navarro isn’t letting that bother him. He tells RS, “The prospects are good. I am super-inspired and enthusiastic about what we’re doing right now — probably more so than I have been in a decade.”

Wow I’m actually surprised with this tune. It has that sun-splashed guitar quality of the nothing’s shocking era. The drums are sick. Farrell’s voice sounds pretty good even if on that 2009 DVD it was pretty weak. As a Jane’s afficcionado I’ll be buying this no doubt.
