Big Four of Thrash coming to NYC in September

Yankee pitcher Mariano Rivera has had Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” as his entrance music for as long as anyone can remember. Now, Yankee Stadium will get the chance to hear the song live in September.

The Big Four of Thrash — Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax — are coming to New York City for a special concert at Yankee Stadium on September 14th. Tickets for the show go on sale starting May 6th at Ticketmaster.com. Metallica fan club members and Yankee Stadium season ticket holders get a special ticket pre-sale on May 4th. This is only the second concert Yankee Stadium has hosted. The first was the gigantic Jay-Z/Eminem show last summer.

The Big Four have only played one show in the U.S. so far. On April 23rd in Indio, California, the bands played together a week after the Coachella festival took place at the Empire Polo Grounds. And now, with them coming to NYC, I finally have a real reason to go to Yankee Stadium.
