Watch: Roger Waters and David Gilmour play “Comfortably Numb”

It finally happened! During tonight’s performance of Roger Waters’ massive The Wall tour, his former partner in crime, David Gilmour ascended the top of the wall and played the classic “Comfortably Numb” in front of a sold out audience. Video of the glorious moment can be seen up top (thanks to YouTuber stumayhew).

Don’t raise your hopes for more Gilmour/Waters appearances. Over at DavidGilmourBlog.com, a message appeared saying that this performance “is most definitely a one-off.” But this has been teased for months now ever since Waters posted that this would happen for quite some time. What wasn’t expected was that Nick Mason also appeared tonight and the three members performed the final song, “Outside The Wall,” together. This was the first time since Floyd’s reunion at the Live 8 show in 2005 that all the surviving members of the band had played together.

If you were at this show, you’re a lucky duck.

Pity you’ve got the short clip here. We were there and the audience reaction when they realised that it was (unannounced) Gilmour on top of The Wall with Roger (smiling!) below: Roger Waters and David Gilmour reunited for the last time? Stunning show, incredible night, see the reception he gets here, then the amazing visuals which get better at the end of the track. Wow, wow, wow.
