Watch: Slipknot returns to the stage in Athens, Greece
Well it certainly has been a been a while (and for good reason) but Slipknot fans in Athens, Greece were the first to see the masked metal marauders back on stage for the first time since the death of bassist Paul Gray in May of 2010. The band hit the stage hard during the Sonisphere festival and laid into the crowd with some of their biggest hits. Down below is the set list from the show.

The show was clearly a tribute to Gray as frontman Corey Taylor asked the crowd to sing songs loud enough so that Gray could hear them. That was particularly evident during “Duality” which you can check out up top.
As to Slipknot’s future, that’s still uncertain. Taylor has repeatedly said in interviews that he’s unsure whether or not he wants to continue in the band while drummer Joey Jordison has been adamant about the fact that Slipknot will return for sure. Here’s hoping these European shows spark something in the band to get them back into full gear. For now, you can check out some of the songs down below.
“Psychosocial”
“Pulse of the Maggots”
“Disasterpiece”

I’m sorry to say this, but this is just a sad, shallow siluette of what Slipknot used to be. As much as I love this band, I still think they should wrap it up now.

wow so you think they should stop… oh like Metallica did? oh and all the other bands that lost band members way to soon? what a great fan you are!! the rest of the band know that Paul would have wanted them to keep going! so they are doing it as best they can.

I remember reading an interview with Corey in which he stated that no one else in the world could do what they do and that when one of them died that would be it.
I am so glad they carried on
