Watch: Eddie Vedder plays “Without You” on Letterman
Monday night had some pretty good late-night performances. Colbert had Bon Iver and David Letterman invited Eddie Vedder and his ukelele, Clarence, to come on play a track from Vedder’s new release, Ukelele Songs.
It’s cool to see Vedder sitting alone on stage with an instrument that, for the Pearl Jam frontman, isn’t one that necessarily shows the power that he has when he’s playing songs like “Even Flow” or “Betterman” in front of thousands of people but still commands your attention. Vedder is one of those unique individuals in music that can come up with an idea for a project and it doesn’t really sound out of place. Is Ukelele Songs a great album? No but you can’t help but to listen to it and appreciate what he does with the instrument. Check out the clip up top and just sink into the feeling that you’re watching a musical wise man do his thing.
