I like it a lot!! We can’t say Josh Klinghoffer is bad! Awesome song.

Pretty awesome! I really like the bassline. Not much noticeable guitar, though. Very subtle. It’s one of those songs that has to grow on you before you really appreciate it!

it sounds like RHCP still, i was really worried it wouldn’t. i hope the whole album isn’t as mellow as this song, but we’ll see!

It’s clear there’s a new guitarist by the sound and how he’s in the background of the song.

i like it. One thing though, MORE COWBELL.

I like. Its a little different, but not too much. It kind of feels like if RHCP was covering the Kills. Kind of a weird thought but I think that best describes it.

Josh sounds like he isn’t very confident in his own guitar playing. I don’t know if it’s his fault or not, but it feels like if they mixed the guitar any quieter it would be literally out of the song. (Not that the guitar was particularly remarkable in the song anyway)
It’s a shame, because everyone knows he’s a good guitarist. I’d like to see him go nuts on the album, have some kind of crazy explosive debut.
I guess we’ll see.

Its a good song, But it is certainly not a song I would have chose for the first single. It dosent bring up much hype for the new album. All in all it sounds like a solid album song but there again, it is not much of a single.

Not the best we have heard from the Red Hot unfortunately…anyway a single can hardly give a precise idea of how the album will be so we just have to wait.

For sure, I miss John Frusciante
See you soon!

The new song is pretty awesome. It certainly could be worse. At least it sounds like RHCP, I wasnt expecting it to be anything like the past stuff with the new guitarist. I thought there would be more influence than this but i guess not. It sounds great to me. Flea certainly still has it too. I wonder how this song would be different if it was still John instead of Josh.

of course it sounds like RHCP, i mean it’s still 3/4 of their amazing lineup, but i have to say this is average at best
i just hope the whole album is better than this first single

Well, I was definitely a little disappointed in this. Just an average song, and with this much wait I’d loved something a little better.
It was just a little too radio friendly to me, and not funky enough. Personally I love it when they’d get really funky, like on songs like “Give it away now”. Also don’t like that they turned down the guitar so much.
That’s what I always loved. That dry guitar sound being very apparent in the final mix of the good old days. Even on ballads like “Scar Tissue” the guitar was still an important part of the song.
Even on “Stadium Arcadium” we still got that Rock sound, that I’m just not hearing here.
Really don’t hope this is the kind of sound the whole new album is gonna have, cause if that’s the case, I’m not gonna be a fan of it.
