Oh yeah I totally agree, I want CDs to stay because I just love seeing my collection grow. But without CDs, we are also missing out on things like cover art and the little booklets inside each case. Plus, I really don’t like the idea of clogging up my computer full of music. Sure, I love my ipod, but do I really need ALL of my music on itunes? I don’t think so. And what if my computer breaks down or something? All my years of music collecting, gone. So here’s what I do: I buy CD’s and then put them on itunes so I have a physical copy just in case my computer crashes. But I don’t just listen to my ipod, I often play my CDs (which sound much better than mp3s mind you) on my epic stereo system which has a carousel for up to 5 CDs on it. Great stuff. Hope we never lose CDs or at least keep some form of physical music.

I think CDs will be around for a little while longer. I think lots of people still find that sentimental value in having a physical copy of their music. It’s way easier to download an album though, so I will not be surprised when the day comes to discontinue the manufacturing of CDs.

I’m hoping that CD’s will stay around for a long time. I’m the type of person who loves the original copy. The last time I bought an album digitally it was awful. The thing is more bands are just releasing digital albums and not even being printed on disc. So with the way things are going one day there will be no CD’s whether I like the idea or not.
