Thursday has broken up

Tuesday, November 22nd, 2011

Always sad to see a good band go. Especially ones that I got into whilst in college. Thursday was a New Jersey band and from New Brunswick, NJ no less. It almost seemed like they were one of those bands that Rutgers University unofficially adopted as their own. But their time has come to an end and the band posted this message on their website.
We’ve been a band for thirteen years. We’ve played an uncountable number of shows, ranging from living… Read More

A bit of history for the uninformed. Back when Radiohead was just starting out, they were called On A Friday. Reason being that the only time could get together to rehearse was on Fridays.
Normally the earliest recordings diehard Radiohead fans can find of the band is the Manic Hedgehog EP but thanks to some sharp eyesight from Consequence… Read More

Watch: Florence + The Machine play Saturday Night Live

Sunday, November 20th, 2011

Saturday Night Live got a dose of Florence Welsh and her Machine when they came to play two tracks from their sophomore album, Ceremonials. Up top you can watch the band play "Shake It Out" and down below, you'll be treated to "No Light, No Light". Granted, Welsh didn't treat the crowd to any flowing, arm-waving dance moves during this performance but it's still a good one to watch.

On today's Rock it Out! Blog, I want to know from you what song you think is the appropriate one to smash your guitar to. If you're on stage playing your favorite rock songs, which one will be the one you destroy your guitar on? Leave a comment or make a video response of you smashing a guitar! Read More
