Sublime With Rome drummer leaves the band

So I guess Sublime With Rome will now be called….With Rome?

In an interview with L.A. radio station KROQ, original Sublime drummer Bud Gaugh who laid down the beats for Sublime 2.0 announced that he was leaving the band to become a dad again. You can watch Gaugh’s announcement in the video down below. As to who will be stepping in to drum for the band, that would be none other than Nine Inch Nails/A Perfect Circle/Weezer/Devo drummer Josh Freese.

Luckily for Freese, the only show Sublime With Rome has left is next March for the Cypress Hill Smokeout Festival in San Bernardino, CA.

You will be missed Bud. As a drummer myself I have 4 main influences: Mitch Mitchell for his snare work, John Bonham for his hard hitting awesomeness, Charlie Watts for his never miss a beat simplicity, and Bud Gaugh for his tempo changes and particularly for his hi-hat work. Bud may seem random in that collection but he always stuck out to me. Can’t hate on him for going to be a dad, thanks for the music!
