Watch: Green Day cover The Misfits’ “Hybrid Moments” for Metallica



Question: What does one Bay Area band give another Bay Area band for their 30th anniversary? If you’re Green Day, you cover the Misfits.

Up top, you can check out Billie Joe Armstrong and the crew cover “Hybrid Moments” as a present for Metallica and then launch into a rendition of “Happy Birthday.” It should be noted that Armstrong lovingly refers to ‘Tallica in the song as “You old ass heavy metal motherfuckers.” I’d say that’s a pretty spot-on description.

Meanwhile, Metallica has been releasing previously unreleased demos from Death Magnetic all week long and a good majority of people are wondering why those songs didn’t make the album.
