The Shins reveal new album details

Bloggers everywhere are already making room on their best albums of 2012 with the announcement of the brand new album from The Shins called Port Of Morrow.
To be fair I’m excited for this album, the first from James Mercer’s band since 2007′s Wincing The Night Away, because it’s been a while since I’ve had my life changed (thanks, Natalie Portman). The album will be released in March of 2012 and will feature ten tracks, all of which you can see down below. An exact release date is set to be announced in the coming weeks.
This is also an album where Mercer not only handled vocal duties but laid down most of the instrumentation as well as all the songwriting. Down below, you can check out fan video of a new song called “The Rifle’s Spiral” (via CoS).
