The Mars Volta releasing new album, Noctourniquet, in March

So even though At The Drive-In is reuniting this year, The Mars Volta are still putting out new music. In this case, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and Cedric Bixler-Zavala will release the band’s sixth album, Noctourniquet, on March 27th.

According to a press release from the band, the new album has 13 tracks and was inspired by “disparate elements including ’80s UK alt-rockers The Godfathers, Superman comic nemesis Solomon Grundy and the Greek myth of Hyacinthus.” Don’t these guys know that Solomon Grundy is also a BATMAN villain? Duh.

Down below, you can check out the Mars Volta playing new tracks off of the album live.

“Molochwalker”

This has nothing to do with the Superman character Solomon Grundy – it is about the nursery rhyme. This has literally been copied and pasted on Rolling Stone, Spin, and like 30 other outlets all because *one source* wrote it – and all the other “music journalism” sites are literally just copying and pasting the same 3 paragraphs, tracklistings, etc. This is a carbon copy of the Rolling Stone article with the same misinformation.
