Listen: The National – The Rains Of Castamere

Winter is coming and it sounds a lot closer with The National providing a song for the Game Of Thrones soundtrack.

Down below you can check out “The Rains Of Castamere” sung in a deep, full bass by frontman Matt Berninger (via ). The song was written by the author of the Game Of Thrones series, George R.R. Martin. Apparently, about Lord Tywin Lannister’s crushing victory over rebellious House Reyne of Castamere and the destruction of the House at the end of their rebellion.

Yes, I’ve probably spoiled a major upcoming plot point for you. Enjoy!

You did not spoil anything, that is just the background of the song and it’s origin and it happened years before the story. However and while it’s clear that you are blogging about the band rather than the show, a spoiler warning about not to google it would be nice. Some tv fans have been curious about it since it was released, google it and spoiled themselves with the most anticipated event in the series, where this song is played.
