It’s that time of year again when New Jersey’s one and only rock music festival, Bamboozle, announce their lineup combining rock with punk-pop with hip-hop so Hot Topic kids can hang for three days in the parking lot where Giants Stadium once stood. Get excited, freaks!

Bamboozle 2011 will take place from April 29-May 1st. The main act, so far, is A Day To Remember followed by the following groups:

A Loss For Words, Animals As Leaders, Born Of Osiris, Boys Like Girls, Chelsea Grin, Circa Survive, Eatmewhileimhot, Forever The Sickest Kids, I See Stars, LMFAO, Neon Hitch, New Found Glory feat. Marky Ramone, Oceano, Romance On A Rocketship, Rx Bandits, Ryan Cabrera, Senses Fail, Sleeping With Sirens, Streetlight Manifesto, Texas In July, The Ready Set, The Youth Ahead, Tim Minchin, Transit, Vanna, Waka Flocka Flame and We Are The In Crowd.

Now this is just the initial lineup. More acts will be announced soon but until then head to the Bamboozle’s website to grab yourself some tickets for Jersey’s finest three-day outdoor parking lot music festival.

MGMT co-headlining Bamboozle Festival

The Bamboozle festival is starting to look like one of the better summer festivals of 2010. With headliners Weezer and Paramore and a ton of great supporting acts, the parking lot at Giants Stadium will probably be more active than tailgating for a Giants/Cowboys game. But now there’s a whole new reason to hit up the festival and it has four letters: MGMT.

The indie-rock duo will co-headline the second night of the festival (May 2) alongside Weezer, according to Spin. Not only will fans get the hits at the show like “Electric Feel” and “Kids” but also some new tunes from their upcoming sophomore album Congratulations.

Speaking of the new record, singer/keyboardist Ben Goldwasser has said there will be no singles coming from the second album. “There definitely isn’t a ‘Time To Pretend’ or a ‘Kids’ on the album,” he said. “We’ve been talking about ways to make sure people hear the album as an album in order and not just figure out what are the best three tracks, download those and not listen to the rest of it.”

Ever thought to yourself “Man, I could put together the greatest festival ever! I would get all my favorite bands to play and everybody would come! I’m so excited about this I’ll end every statement with an exclamation point!” Alright then Excited McGee. You wanna book a festival? Here’s your chance.

The Bamboozle and Bamboozle Left are holding a contest where you get to submit your list of 62 bands you would want to see play Bamboozle. If you win, you get to help book Bamboozle 2010. Wanna know how to get involved? Move your eyes down to the next paragraph.

Glad you could make it down here. Now all you have to do is head on over to Bamboozle’s website to submit your 62 band list. Don’t be shy, now. Just put together the dream list that’s been floating around in your head. They’re going to pick one winner and the grand prize is quite insane. You get two VIP passes to the Bamboozle fest of your choice (California or New Jersey), you get to meet and greet all the bands, get a bunch of cool swag and you get to be a booking consultant and help pick who’s gonna play the festival.
