Beck releasing new single via Third Man Records

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2012

Well it's about damn time! Finally, after all the soundtracks and cover songs, we're finally getting something new from Beck Hansen and naturally Jack White's Third Man Records would be the ones to release it.
Beck is releasing a brand new single called "I Just Started Hating Some People Today" on May 28th. He'll be releasing it, along with the b-side "Blue Randy", via Third Man's Blue Series on 7" vinyl and digitally. A press release states… Read More

Metallica, Neil Young, Jack White headlining Outside Lands festival

Tuesday, April 17th, 2012

I'll be the first to tell you that the Outside Lands festival in San Francisco, CA is a damn good time. I went there for the first time last year and even documented my time on video. And based on this year's line up it looks I'm going back to the Bay Area this summer.

Uh, Mr. Hansen? We're all big fans of your work but...is there a way you possibly could maybe, perhaps possibly do something along the lines of releasing an album of your own? Maybe? Possibly?
Yes, everyone, Beck is back on the scene but with another single for another film. This time it's the new track called "Looking For A Sign" from the new Jason Segel film, Jeff Who Lives At Home. You can stream the track over at 107.7… Read More

Jack White, Beck, Bon Iver headlining Sasquatch festival

Friday, February 3rd, 2012

The annual Sasquatch festival, definitely a festival that I need to attend in the very near future, announced a killer line up for this year's installment.
Recently solo Jack White, along with Beck and Bon Iver, will be headlining the George, WA based four-day event which runs from May 25-28. Also leading the way are Pretty Lights, Tenacious D, The Shins, Girl Talk, St. Vincent, Feist, and Silversun Pickups. But that's not all who you'll get to see at the Gorge… Read More

Beck, Josh Homme remix The White Stripes and The Dead Weather

Sunday, October 9th, 2011

I'm still surprised as to why I haven't signed up for Third Man Records' subscription service, The Vault. It might have to do with the fact that I'm broke as all hell but I'm heavily considering a career in theft to get enough money to sign up for the service.
My future life of crime could be due to the fact that the forthcoming package from the vault is quite huge. It includes a 7" vinyl that features a remix of The White… Read More

Award season is just around the corner and, even though tons of bloggers (myself included) will tell you how much they don't give a shit, we have to so that we have something to gripe about. We're gripers...it's how we roll.
But since all the upcoming awards are about movies, the only categories we have to make a fuss over are Best Original Song and Best Original Score. In the case of the Oscars, the shortlist of potential nominees was recently released… Read More
