The new single from Bruce Springsteen, “We Take Care Of Our Own,” is still a track that I’m not a fan of. The Boss’s way of phrasing the lyrics just throws me off a bit. Yes I know that sounds a bit snobby but I’m someone that pays attention to stuff like that…so there.

In any case, Springsteen has released a music video for the track which you can check out down below. The Boss plays his guitar in a black and white world while celebrating the hard working people of the U.S.A and showing off scenes of the country in a well shot video. I may not be a fan of this track but it’s a lovely video to watch. On top of that, the lyrics pop up on the screen as Springsteen sings them so if you’d like to sing along, feel free.

There it is, Springsteen fans. The Boss is coming back in a big way this year with a brand new album called Wrecking Ball and the lead single, “We Take Care Of Our Own,” will be available on Thursday, January 19th (via CoS). Check out the track down below.

Wrecking Ball alludes to a song that Springsteen composed for the demolition of Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. The album will consist of 11 tracks and be released in the UK on March 5th. It’ll be released in the U.S. on March 6th.

As far as what we can expect on the album, the Boss’s manager, Jon Landau, told Rolling Stone that “It’s a rock record that combines elements of both Bruce’s classic sound and his Seeger Sessions experience, with new textures and styles.” Furthermore, The Hollywood Reporter claims that the songs on Wrecking Ball feature “unexpected textures – loops, electronic percussion… influences and rhythms from hip-hop to Irish folk rhythms.”

Springsteen is expected to announce North American tour dates starting in March, according to Rolling Stone, including a show in Austin, TX during South By Southwest where he’ll make a keynote address.

I really didn’t need a reason to go to SXSW next March. I had it already marked on my invisible calendar but for anyone who has doubted going to Austin, TX for the week long music festival…this is something you may want to check out along with all the bands that’ll be playing.

A press release from the people at South by Southwest states that Bruce Springsteen will be the keynote speaker for the festival. His presentation will take place on Thursday, March 15th at the Austin Convention Center. It doesn’t really matter what he’s going to talk about because, really, anything this guy says could be deemed as pearls of wisdom.

To get into see the Boss, you’ll need a music or a platinum SXSW badge. You can register for those badges here if you feel the need to spend a few dollars.

Already there’s speculation that Springsteen will play a show at SXSW. Considering he and the E Street Band are touring next year and releasing a new album, I would almost put my money on it…what little money I have.

Big news for fans of the Boss. Over at Bruce Springsteen’s website, it’s been announced that he and the E Street Band will be on tour in 2012 and will also be releasing a new album.

The site claims that, “The European dates run from the middle of May until end of July and are being announced this week. Info on the US dates and the World tour dates will coming up shortly.”

As far as the new album is concerned, the post on the site reads, “the music is almost done (but still untitled), we have almost settled on the release date (but not quite yet), and that we are all incredibly excited about everything that we’re planning for 2012. That’s all the info we have for right now, but we’ll get back to you–real soon.”

Well, if the world actually ends in 2012, at least it’ll end with Springsteen providing the live soundtrack. What a way to go out.

UPDATE: Springsteen is wasting no time announcing dates for the tour next year. The first four dates will take place in the UK and you can see them down below.

Bruce Springsteen 2012 tour dates:
6/21 – Sunderland, UK, Stadium of Light
6/22 – Manchester, UK, Eithad Stadium
6/24 – Isle of Wight, UK, Isle of Wight Festival
7/14 – London, UK, Hard Rock Calling

I realize that I’m a bit “late to the party” on this but what can be written that hasn’t already been posted on internet blogs, newspapers and anywhere else that talks music news? If you’re still unaware of what’s happened, Clarence Clemons, long time sax player for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band passed away on Saturday, June 18th after having suffered a stroke a week prior. He was 69 years old.

Clemons aka The Big Man would help to form the E Street Band in 1972 and was by Springsteen’s side ever since. You’ve absolutely heard his saxophone licks on songs like “Jungleland” and “Born To Run” and it was the Big Man who stood beside the Boss on the album cover of Born To Run. Most recently, younger audiences and longtime fans were exposed to Clemons when he performed on Lady Gaga’s new album, Born This Way, and even performed on this season’s American Idol with Gaga when she sang “The Edge of Glory.” He also appears in the video for the song.

So how could I best end this post? How about with a statement from Springsteen himself:

Clarence lived a wonderful life. He carried within him a love of people that made them love him. He created a wondrous and extended family. He loved the saxophone, loved our fans and gave everything he had every night he stepped on stage. His loss is immeasurable and we are honored and thankful to have known him and had the opportunity to stand beside him for nearly forty years. He was my great friend, my partner, and with Clarence at my side, my band and I were able to tell a story far deeper than those simply contained in our music. His life, his memory, and his love will live on in that story and in our band.

Thanks for the music, Big Man.
