You won’t have to set your DVR for the Liam Gallagher v. Noel Gallagher legal battle on Court TV anytime soon. It looks like the boys won’t be talking through their lawyers anytime soon…thanks to mommy dearest.

According to The Sun, Liam has dropped a lawsuit against his guitar-playing brother. The suit was originally filed after Noel said that Liam didn’t perform at the Oasis gig in 2009 at the V Festival due to a hangover. Turns out that Noel was simply taking a swipe at his brother and not admitting that Liam had laryngitis and couldn’t perform even if he wanted to.

Noel apologized to his brother in an online webchat with fans saying, “for the record it is a fact that he was diagnosed with laryngitis and it is a fact that he had a doctor’s note to prove it. But I’d just like to say though, if he gets offended by my opinions on such things then you know I apologize but it’s all getting very silly and a little bit out of hand and it’s not very cool.”

Furthermore, it turns out that the boys’ mom was getting rattled by all the fighting between them. A source told The Sun, “Liam had spoken to his mum Peggy and she was upset by the whole episode. That was playing on his mind then he had a moment of realisation that Noel wasn’t being vindictive – he was just being cheeky. It was an anger that had built up over two years because he was so angry Oasis was over.”

Well, clearly, this is a step towards Oasis getting back together.

Rolling Stone is reporting that Liam Gallagher is suing his brother Noel over Oasis breaking up and comments that Noel made about the split.

Liam released a statement today which read, “I have taken legal action against Noel Gallagher for statements he made during the Electric Cinema press conference on July 6 during which he claimed Oasis pulled out of the 2009 V Festival Chelmsford gig because I had a hangover. That is a lie and I want Oasis fans, and others who were at V, to know the truth.”

Liam added that Noel also made the claim that “the demise of Oasis followed a massive row in which he claimed I demanded to advertise my clothing range Pretty Green in the Oasis tour program. The truth is there was no such discussion or row between us. There are many reasons why Oasis split. But it had nothing to do with my clothing range.”

Of course, no word has come from Noel or any of his representatives as of yet. But it’s nice to know the brothers are, at the very least, in each others thoughts, right? Ah, family.

So the new single from Beady Eye, “Bring The Light,” didn’t exactly leave the best first impression with me. But this b-side, “Sons of the Stage,” is a little better. Not much but it’s more in line with what I thought the music would sound like.

You can check out the song down below. To me, it sounds like a lazy Oasis song. It’s got that echo-ey Liam Gallagher vocal effect and is driven by guitar more than piano. But the string section in the song almost seems kind of forced; as if Liam thought it would make the song more epic if violins were tossed in the background.

So based on hearing two songs, I’m pretty sure I won’t be heading to my record store to pick up a copy of their debut album. But if you like it then I can’t stop you from that. I’ll just laugh at you from afar. Oh BTW, Beady Eye also announced dates in the UK if you’re interested. You can see them all at their official website.

The song itself is…well, it isn’t what you’d expect from a band that was once called Oasis. This is a piano-driven foot stomper. It’s similar to what you might have heard if you went to the school dance in the mid 1950′s. Looks like Liam is really trying to stay away from the guitar washed tunes that made he and his brother, Noel, famous back in the 90′s. My guess is you’ll have the hook stuck in your head for about a day but it’s nothing to write home about.

Check it out down below and, if you really dig the track, head to their official website to pre-order the 7″ vinyl that includes this song and its b-side, “Sons of the Stage.”

So former singer of Oasis, Liam Gallagher, has finally come up with a name for his new band. They are to be known as Beady Eye…what?

What could possibly be one of the worst band names I’ve heard, the news was announced at, ironically, the official website for Oasis. The picture you see to your left came with the following caption:

“Beady Eye (Liam Gallagher, Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock) are in the studio with Steve Lillywhite, working on their way of looking at the world.”

Gallagher and the rest of the band, who were all formerly in Oasis, are still working on music and have released no other information about what’s happening in the studio other than they’ve given themselves a shitty name. I’m pretty sure Noel Gallagher wins this round.

Liam Gallagher is sticking to his guns and not planning that Oasis reunion anytime soon.

The former Oasis frontman and his new band plan on finishing their debut album by June and release their first single this October.

The album is written,” Gallagher said in a recent interview. “We’re recording it in April for three weeks then we have a break, go back in for another four weeks and it’ll be done by June. But it won’t be coming out ’til next year. But we’re pushing to have a single out in October – so hopefully do some gigs around then.”

Gallagher also plans on playing some live shows around the release of the single. He also made sure to point out that the music is “a lot more musical than Oasis.” Had to get that little extra dig in there, didn’t ya Liam?

Gallagher also said that his new band would play some shows around the time of the single release. Meanwhile, his brother Noel has already started the touring part of his solo career. Oh boys, when will you stop fighting? Isn’t family supposed to love each oth…ah wait. It’s the Gallaghers. Never mind.

Look at that picture to the left. Remember when Oasis was a happy band and brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher couldn’t stop praising each other as their band went to create hit song after hit song? Well those carefree times are coming back again…through a singles album.

Oasis isn’t getting back together but on June 14th, a singles compilation album called Time Flies…1994-2009 will be in stores for you to buy (via CoS). It includes 26 Oasis singles from their nearly 20-year career (except for the song “Sunday Morning Call”).

There’s also a deluxe edition of the album that will include all the music videos that accompanied these songs and an Oasis performance from July 21, 2009 at London’s Roundhouse.

As for the Gallaghers…they still hate each other. While Noel is preparing to trek across the U.S. for the first time as a solo artist, Liam and the rest of Oasis are planning on putting out their first album in 2011.

Time Flies…1994-2009 tracklist
Supersonic
Roll With It
Live Forever
Wonderwall
Stop Crying Your Heart Out

Not only have Gorillaz apparently stolen riffs from other songs but now they’re stealing members from other bands.

Damon Albarn spoke to Triple J radio in Australia (via NME) recently and talked about how the band acquired a new member from Liam Gallagher.

“We have a young lad called Jeff who funnily enough is in Liam’s new band,” said Albarn. It should be noted that Albarn’s former band, Blur, had quite the heated rivalry with Gallagher’s former band Oasis. How does Albarn look at the situation? “I just thought that was quite funny.” You can see photos of Jeff working with Albarn and the Clash’s Mick Jones and Paul Simonon right over here.

Albarn also talked about how the set-up for the new Gorillaz live show is different than before.

“We have used holograms in the past,” he said, “but to really successfully put a hologram on the stage you need so much smoke you can’t see anything else, or you stretch a piece of very fine transparent film across the stage and project across that. But you can’t have any bass, because the film starts rattling. This time we’re going out all guns blazing, with the best bass sounds on earth.”

Gorillaz are currently on a mini-tour through the U.K. before making their way stateside for a giant show at the Coachella festival on April 18th. They’ve also announced shows at Roundhouse in London on April 29th and 30th. Tickets can be bought here on March 26th at 9am GMT.
