Linkin Park, Paramore, Mastodon appear on soundtrack for Transformers: Dark of the Moon

The summer movie season is in full swing and we know the rule about summer movies, right? The bigger the explosions, the more likely the movie will probably suck. And no one proves this better than Michael Bay and the Transformers movies he’s made which will include the third installment, Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

Now while I really have no burning desire to see robots in disguise and Shia LeBeouf screaming all of his lines, what may be of interest is the soundtrack for the movie. Sadly (or maybe not) Pink Floyd didn’t contribute any Dark Side of the Moon tracks but the album does feature Transformers staples, Linkin Park, and the song “Iridescent,” which first appeared on their new album A Thousand Suns, which will appear during the end credits of the film.

You’ve also got My Chemical Romance, Skillet, Theory of a Deadman, Staind, Art of Dying and…the Goo Goo Dolls…appearing on the OST. However, there are a couple bright points to this clusterfuck of an album. Paramore is releasing a brand new song called “Monster” and Mastodon’s cover of ZZ Top’s “Just Got Paid” will grace the album.

Surprise, surprise, surprise. Linkin Park is contributing music to another Transformers movie. Oh joy. Watch as my face bursts with delight………..(yawn).

But for those of you that ARE interested, LP is putting out a remix of their song “Iridescent” from A Thousand Suns on the soundtrack for Transformers: Dark of the Moon which is in theaters on July 1st. You can check out the remix down below, thanks to our buds at Some Kind Of Awesome. There’s no set release date for the soundtrack as of yet.

System of a Down, Linkin Park headlining Download Festival

It’s the festival in the UK that isn’t Glastonbury and one where you may have to kick a few asses to have an exceptional time.

The Download Festival, which runs from June 10-12 in Donington Park, UK, revealed their line up and the headliners are quite big catches. While Linkin Park will get their fair share of fans, System Of A Down will be the kings of this year’s fest as they haven’t played a show together for years.

Also, Avenged Sevenfold, Korn, Pendulum, Rob Zombie, Alice Cooper, Alter Bridge and more will rock out UK fans for three days straight. Tickets are already for sale and they’ll probably go quick so you’ll need to snatch them up fast. All the ticket packages and prices are available at Download’s website.

Listen up, guys. That one band called Linkin Park, who I hear is starting to become quite popular, have kicked off their North American tour in support of their new album, A Thousand Suns. Now while I may not be the biggest LP fan, I was lucky enough to catch them at a show in NYC last year and, to be quite honest, those fuckers can bring a crowd to life. But why should I have all the fun? Let’s give some of you a chance to see what I’m talking about.

Linkin Park announce North American tour dates

It’s been two years since Linkin Park have toured in the U.S. and Canada. But the band have recognized that and have decided to return home next January for a month long run.

In support of their new album, A Thousand Suns, LP will kick off their tour on January 20th in Sunrise, FL and will end it on February 26th in Denver, CO. Make your way to their website to learn how you can start buying tickets early as these shows will probably sell out quick.

I was lucky enough to see them at their one show they played in the U.S. this year in New York City when their album came out. They played new and older material and put on a really great set and it was in an intimate setting. So you can imagine the energy they’ll bring when it comes to an arena show.
