One of the records on that list is the Mastodon/Feist split 7" appropriately titled Feistodon where both bands cover one of the other's songs. Down below, you can check out those covers. One is Mastodon covering the Feist track "Commotion" from the 2001 album Metals while Feist covers the heavy Mastodon track from 2011's The Hunter, "Black Tongue" (via Listen… Read More

I think people tend to forget about the Rock On The Range festival. Even though it brings big acts to Columbus, OH on a yearly basis, it's not one of those festivals that sticks out in one's mind when you're planning what fests to head to in the summer. Regardless, ROTR is back this year with a pretty interesting line up. Incubus, Rob Zombie, Shinedown and Marilyn Manson will be headlining the three-day festival which runs from May 18-20 at Crew Stadium.… Read More
Need an insane metal tour to check out this year? I got one for ya. How about Mastodon and Opeth? Yeah, I knew you'd like that. Dubbed the Heritage Hunter tour, the two metal titans are hitting the road together starting April 4th in Portland, OR and will play until May 12th with a show in Atlanta, GA. The cool thing about this outing is that each night the bands will alternate headlining a show. One night Mastodon will close it out then the next… Read More
If you haven't seen this yet and have been looking for something new to trip balls on then you're in luck! So you go ahead and start screaming why the bad man won't get out of your eyeballs after watching this video a couple times. Read More
Well there it is. The Grammy. The award that artists strive to win and the one that bloggers and fans hate. Primarily because, as fans, we feel that OUR favorite bands deserve all the accolades and fuck the rest. But this award ceremony offers us a place to vent our frustrations and reaffirm our hatred for genres and artists we can't stand. There's gonna be a lot of hate for one Justin Bieber again...even if he isn't nominated… Read More
You're getting the heads up from now that Record Store Day 2012 is going to be awesome. In a recent interview with MTV News Canada, Mastodon frontman Troy Sanders revealed that the band will be releasing a split single with Canadian songstress Leslie Feist and her band for next year's vinyl holiday. Sanders says in the clip down below that "the idea is for Mastodon to cover a Feist song and throw some hair and dirt on it. They're gonna take… Read More
