Motörhead added to Mayhem festival line up

It was only a matter of time before they fessed up to this happening. Earlier today it was announced that Motörhead would be joining the Mayhem festival line up alongside Slipknot and Slayer.

Well this looks promising! This year's Mayhem festival, the touring hard rock and metal celebration, has got itself quite a massive line up this year.
Slipknot and Slayer will be headlining the festival while the side stages will boast bands including Anthrax, Asking Alexandria, The Devil Wears Prada, Whitechapel, High On Fire and As I Lay Dying. Motörhead fans, lower your heads. Michael "Würzel" Burston, the former guitarist of the band, passed away on Saturday, July 9th at the age of 61. The cause of death is said to have been complications from heart disease.
Würzel joined Motörhead in 1984 and stayed with the band until 1995. Prior to that, he was a corporal in the army and played in a series of other bands. The name Würzel came from his comparison to a TV character named Worzel Gummidge. He would add the umlaut… Read More
