Look at Matt Bellamy peeking out behind the bristles of a broom in a recording studio…..recording studio?!

Yes, ladies and punk-asses, Muse is in the studio working on their next album and may possibly try to top the epicosity (it’s a real word, yo) of their last release, The Resistance. The picture up top comes from Muse’s Twitter account and compliments the tweet that Bellamy threw out to the world which reads, “About to start some recording tomorrow. What musical direction shall we go in?”

Before you answer, he offers up a combination of his own. “Ok, will start on christian gangsta rap jazz odyssey, some ambient rebellious dubstep and face melting metal flamenco cowboy psychedelia.” Sounds promising.

So when will this over the top musical spectacle be released? According to the band’s manager, Anthony Addis, it should be out in fall of 2012. Addis told Billboard.biz, “Hopefully, [the album] might come out October next year. They’ve written a lot of material already but you don’t know how it’s going to gel between them all. They write constantly. They write on the road, so before or after a gig they’ll write nearly every night. It’s a serious process, but you don’t know how it’s going to turn out [until] you start practicing it together, because everybody’s done it individually.”

I’ll tentatively mark my calendar for October. But lightly so it’s easy to white out in case the date is wrong.

If you’re the lucky fuck who’s going to be at the Rage Against the Machine show on July 30th in Los Angeles that also has Muse and Rise Against playing, just know that I hate you. But I’m not one to slow you down from seeing amazing music so here are some details you need to know.

Tickets for the show are going on sale Friday, May 13th at 10:00 am PT and will run you from $69-$99. Which isn’t bad considering you get Rage, Muse, Rise Against and now The Roots, Immortal Technique and El Gran Silencio.

Oh, you need to know where the show is, don’t you? Well if you head towards the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, you’ll find the show you’re looking for provided you get tickets.

Have fun. Rock out. I hate you.

“What the fuck is Kanrocksas?” the reader asked as his eyes gazed upon his computer screen. That ridiculous word is the name of a brand new music festival which, in its inaugural year, has Muse, Eminem and The Black Keys headlining. Not so ridiculous now, is it?

Taking place in Kansas City, Kansas at the Kansas Speedway on August 4th and 5th, Kanrocksas also has acts including A Perfect Circle, The Flaming Lips, Flogging Molly, Fitz and the Tantrums, Arctic Monkeys, Primus and more performing over the course of two days. Which means Lollapalooza has got another midwestern festival to compete with around the exact same time of year.

Tickets for the festival go on sale starting April 29th but an early bird special starts Tuesday, April 26th. Early bird passes will run you for $179 and VIP passes for $359. Camping is also included in the price of the pass. So if you can’t make it up to Chicago for Lolla but still want the festival experience, this might not be an all bad substitute. Head to the festival’s website for more info.

Well….this looks promising. Rage Against the Machine along with Muse and Rise Against on the same bill?

Our good friends at Consequence of Sound have uncovered a piece of information that was posted on Coachella’s Facebook page that says RATM is playing in Los Angeles on Saturday, July 30th and that Muse and Rise Against will provide support. So far, no other details outside of the bands and a date have been revealed. Here’s hoping this is actually going to happen.

Rage haven’t played in the U.S. since their concert in L.A. last summer with Conor Oberst. The concert was a Sound Strike event which stood against the immigration bill that was trying to be passed in Arizona.

The gifts just kept on coming this Christmas; not just from under the tree but from the Internet and the rock bands who utilized it. There was Radiohead, Gorillaz, Klaxons, Nine Inch Nails and now we can add Muse to the list of bands who decided to spread some holiday cheer.

Up top is a video of the band performing “Uprising” at Wembley Stadium in London and down below you can watch them play “Citizen Erased.” Good videos for sure but here’s where the fun kicks in. Head over to their website and the videos become interactive. You can watch them perform from different parts of the stage and different parts of the arena. And you thought you were just getting some more live concert videos. How mistaken you were.
