CMJ week here in New York may have already reached its pinnacle moment on its second day. Last night at Madison Square Garden, during the French band Phoenix's headlining set, two French electronic robots collectively known as Daft Punk made the arena go insane with their special appearance and performance.

A lot of award shows are shit...ok, I take that back. ALL award shows are shit. Yet, we watch a few of them so that we have something to complain about the next day. Whether it's our favorite band getting passed over, a movie we think should win doesn't win or somebody gets real drunk and runs on stage to make an ass of themselves, we'll find something to discuss. But the American Music Awards are a complete waste of an award show. They're almost as bad as the People's Choice awards. Outside Lands festival announces lineup

San Francisco is slowly gaining the status of "awesome music festival city" ever since Outside Lands arrived at Golden Gate Park.
The festival, which started back in 2008, announced the full lineup of the two day event today. Headliners will include massive bands including Kings of Leon, My Morning Jacket, Phoenix, The Grateful Dead and another festival appearance by The Strokes.
